Hairdos for Long Hair

Long hair is the most versatile length, yet it is the length that requires the most work. Long hairdos are great for any occasion, formal or informal.  Consider these long hairdos for your next look.

The long layered hairdo - features long layers cut in throughout the style for a very flattering finish.  The layers help to cut some bulk from the hair and allow the hair to lay smoothly.  Layers also help to alleviate overall frizzy hair.

Add some sideswept bangs to the style for an added modern touch.  Different types of bangs are also an option, consider fringe, straight or a full textured bang.

All over curls, all over straight are also options for the long hairdo style.   See more hairdos for long hair

Long hair is back. So, put away all those short and medium bobs and go get hair extensions so you can rock some of these amazing long hair styles.

The secret to many long hair styles is in the haircut, specifically in the layers.  Layers added to a long style help to break up the style and create movement. Add to this a splash of color with highlights and/or lowlights, maybe a hint of side swept bangs and you are rockin a great long hair style.

Big Hair Styles

In case you were wondering, the big, full, long and layered hair style hasn't gone anywhere.  Cheryl Cole recently was seen with this very glamorous style.

Create this style on your own by first applying a volumizing hair product and/or a root volumizer product to damp hair.  Blow dry the hair using a large round brush. Direct all layers down and under.

When the hair is completely dry, add soft waves throughout using a medium barrel curling iron or hot rollers.  To finish off the style and create the height in the crown area, take small sections of hair and gently back comb them and smooth over the top with your fingers.

Bangs are Hot AGAIN This Year

It is the return (as if they went anywhere) of the hair bang. Many celebrities are adding a full hair bang to their hairstyle for an updated look.  Wispy and side swept bangs are also popular.  See Liz Hurley, photo left.

This siren of the screen carries off this classy look to perfection. Liz's hair has been layered to create a soft and full style which boasts body and bounce. The soft bangs have been parted on the side to create a softer look for the face, and is a flattering option for longer face shapes and high foreheads.
